Whittling Kit
Includes the book Old Time Whittling. This book
Although the
word Whittling
may conjure images of old men making shavings while sitting on a bench in
front
of the general store, its definition is simply any carving done with a
knife. Learn the
basics while creating an egg, an old boot, a ball-in-the-cage, a wooden
chain, a
ball-in-a-ball, an arrow through the heart, and more with this easy to
follow text.
Wood selection, knife sharpening, and safety give the beginning carver a
good
basic introduction. Ten projects with concise instructions and 50+
photographs
and diagrams. 60 pgs., softcover.
The kit contains a Victorinox 2 blade pocket knife shaped
and sharpened ready to use. The
longer
blade is 2" long and shaped for carving. The 1" shorter blade
remains a standard
pocket knife blade. The handle is 3 1/4" long. The kit contains wood already marked
for
carving
ball-in-cage (instructions are in book). Also contains a basswood
practice
block
8" long x 1" x 1".
